Yep they work good, but like Aggie said you need clean water other wise the grass will hang in the prop. Drop the coin and get the Higdon swimmer or duck butts

I bought one but I threw it away. Like they said you need clean deep water for it to work, and I like hunting calf deep grassy water or water holding food so it didn't work for me. I bought the game winner jerk rig for 14 bucks and it works a lot better

My buddy had one on one of his deks Saturday. We were hunting in shin deep water with soft mud and a little vegetation. It would hang up a little but always seemed to get free. I can see it not working if the vegetation is thick. The one he had only hung down 5 or 6 inches from the bottom of the dek. As long as you have an inch or two more than that your good.

Before I got my Higdon I thought about getting some screen and making a guard to put around prop. I imagine you could just cone it around prop and then zip tie it to the main tube of the power keel.

Leave the batteries at home and get a jerk rig.

If the water's deep I'd just make some adjustments to a jerk anchor or setup something more permanent if you can.

The swimmers can work but you'll need a few of them at least. Something from wonderduck may work better but is more $:

If you do get the power keels, you'll need to use some major fishing swivels and tackle on your lines to keep them from tangling. Also Do not us them anywhere there is grass. or underwater veg.

Wear some gloves if your working a jerk string in a layout or you won't have any skin on your knuckles

I bought one of those the other day. It sucks. Water has to be perfectly calm for it to work. Barely pushes the dern decoy around. And if there is any wind, forget about it. I wont waste any more of my money on that one from Game Winner. No maybe if there are some with a more powerful motor, I may consider it. I like the idea a concept of having a few dekes out there that are moving around...but the GW power keel is junk.

Yep they do suck its not the motor tho its the battery I tore mine apart and hooked up a 4AA battery pack from my dove mojo and it well move some water now hooked 4 greenhead mag redhead decoys to it and it worked great. I'm using it as a pull cord with a bungee

~I tried one:

1st time it tangled in the line every couple of minutes.
2nd time put a swivel on it to avoid tangling and swam strange like it was bobbing up and down
3rd time it fell off the decoy

The battery (1 C cell) runs about 3 hours.

It has a place in my arsenal, but it's not a magic tool by any means. Dead calm days, in no vegetation, and I don't feel like running a jerk rig: I'm using it.
