No it was a black duck i always thought they were the same as a mottled, but after more research i found out that all though they look the same a mottle duck has one white strip on the bottom of the wing. where as a black duck has no white. The game warden finally gave me the only book i can find that has pictures of the differences of black ducks and mottles.

I got a banded Ross goose yesterday ended up being two year old bird.
