I saw the old post from 2011, but thought an updated thread for the new season would be in order.
My frustration level is rising. Been hitting the stand every weekend and have only seen 1 doe during shooting hours. Absolutely no bucks during daylight, except a couple of times when I was not in the stand of course and see them on my camera.. I know the bucks and deer are here, but so far nothing to show for it.

How about you other guys? Have the hunting Gods been kind to you or no?

Seen lots of deer and passed on alot of bucks. I video alot and have some great footage through out this year already with the rut heating up.

Hunting in Erath has been slow, Somervell county has been good. In Comal county yesterday, I had 1 spike chasing 10 doe. Deer were moving good, despite high winds.

Man...opening day I was unable to hunt the afternoon, and of course the big 10 I been watching shoes up. Since then...nothing.

All of the deer ate coming in between 11:00pm and 2:00am.

I dont know wgat to do but keep sitting, waiting, and hoping.

I have not.... Hunted last Friday and missed a really nice buck by rushing the shot. Hope to get time asap to hunt more though.

I haven't seen anything I would shoot this early in season. Deer have really gone nocturnal for us.

Havent shot anything thing this year. Im hoping for some sort of freak deer but havent found one yet.

havent seen a shooter all season, and not even on cams since early october, really only had a few deer in bow range at all and they were mostly spikes and 4's.

pretty frustrating.

October 7 my first deer hunt of the year......this guy showed up! Filled archery tag......waiting for our gun season now!!!

so far this has been the slowest season for us in 15 years at the shop. Talk to lots of hunters and it seems that the deer are just not hitting the feeder or do it at night. We don't even have does coming to our feeder at the moment. Very discouraging so far. Hope it will pick up with those coupld of cold fronts coming and the acorns starting to rot.

Havnt seen anything worth it yet hope as it gets colder hunting gets hotter

Nothing to speak of in two different counties. This is how it's gone at my house: Before open season, saw LOTS of deer (although only in dark), including several nice bucks. After the season started, lots of does, no bucks. Still only in dark. Three weeks in, nothing.

As per usual this year, at the other place, nothing. Sure, there's a few does, but they don't go to the feeder. Odd, because there were no acorns to speak of. OK; I blame the wind, today. And it's been warm. But, still ..

I will be interested in what TPWD reports after season close, especially with their optomistic forecast.

Seen 9 different bucks this year but no shooters.

Seen one old 8 point and a nice 3.5 8pt. Still waiting on the buck in my sig

I've only made one hunting trip so far this season. I saw a total of three bucks, only on being a shooter, but I passed him. He was a good 4 1/2 yr old 8 pt. but decided not to take him....yet. I shot a nice 4-5 year old doe (103 lbs.), but no buck so far!!

Took as decent ten this morning near marble falls. first and probably last deer of the season. But dang it was fun!!!

same with us, just spent the last 15 days in the bush, several young bucks, few doe, but nothing like the numbers we have seen in the past. Going to be an intersting year

Atascosa County I have 7 deer on camera. 4 bucks and only 2 are legal. I have not seen one on camera during daylight hours since the end of August. Where I am at it doesn't get going for a few weeks. I have sat about 6 times and I have not seen anything yet.

With the exception of a small spike, I've yet to see a legal buck in Houston County. Seen several young bucks that didn't come near the 13-inch requirement. Deer sightings have been way down overall.
