I am headed up to Avery this weekend for our annual guys thanksgiving hunt. We have had success every year and am curious to see if the rut has kicked off or how the hunting has been. How are the quality of deer this year.

Usually around Thanksgiving is late rut there.Initial rut late Oct Early Nov.
 Guns dont kill people.....bullets do.

I used to hunt up in that area and the rut almost always around Thanksgiving week. Good luck.

i hunt in English NE of Clarksville, was there Sunday and saw an 8 running all around looking for a hot doe. Had small bucks at the feeder that were more worried about eating though, so im sure you may see a little of both. Our place between Sulphur Bluff and Hagansport the rut is on, and its just 15 min south of Bogota, so i guess its just hit and miss! Good Luck
 Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

I think the warmer weather that weve had and the late acorn drop in that region has them all confused. It wouldnt be hunting if it was easy.
