A neighbor mentioned having tremendous success with a powdered sugar beet product that's sold at Academy.

Anyone else have good success with it?

It's made by wildgame innovations and my deer ate it after about 2 days of sniffing it. First trip to feeder they walke right past it to get to the corn. Don't dump it in your feeder even though I believe it says you can. Any moisture and you'll have a mess.

Thanks! Like apple scent, it seems very much like something you could mix with corn in a feeder. Thanks for letting me (and others) know that's not a good idea.

I used it last year late in the season when it went on sale, the deer loved it. Had some pics of them with the purple powder all over their faces.

Dad is one of those that likes to try every attractant he sees on TV just to see if it really works. Got some pics with deer having the powder on their nose, but haven't witnessed them eat it while hunting. Every time we put it out in the evening it is gone the next morning, but don't know for sure if it is deer or hogs getting into it more. Wouldn't say it affected our success really any though.

I've used the sugar beet crush a couple of times, After a few days the powder is all gone and the deer seem to like it. I started using it when I first set up my feeder, I mixed some of the sugar beet crush into the feeder and the rest poured it out on the ground under and around the feeder. The deer found it and started eating it within a day or two of me putting it out. So i've had good success with it and think it's a pretty good deer attractant.

Just stick with what works. Corn. Feed it all year too if you want the best results.

Just to update those interested, I've had very good results this season with both deer and hogs being attracted to the sugar beets product mentioned earlier. And while there is no way to know for sure that it made any difference, I took a nice 12-point and boar hog near a feeder where I had been putting out small piles of the stuff.

A friend found the same product a local Wal-Mart on sale for $7 a bag. Needless to say, I picked up a couple of bags.

I also noticed today that while Academy has most of their other such hog and deer attractants on sale, this product was not.
