Last week I saw a buck that was in arrow range, but there were too many trees in the way. I saw a pair of does several times, and they were 80 yards out farther in the woods. My bud set up a second camera on a two track, short road, that would be about a 50 to 60 yard move for me. The first night the camera was out, and every day since it has picked up three legal bucks, two of which are very nice. My blind and feeder just aren't in their travel route. Plus the deer just aren't interested in corn anyway.

So should I move my whole set up (that has been in place since August) to their known travel route. Or stay put and wait on the browse to wear out and them get interested in corn? Will moving to the edge of their travel route make them pick another route? These are Collin county deer that still don't get very spooked by us when they do see us.

There is a good chance when you put your blind out, it pushed them away. If you move this late, you might push them further away. They could also be scenting you if your in a tent. If you have a tri-pod try moving it over there in the direction they are going and give you a 30 yard shot. This is why they call it hunting instead of shooting. good luck. Also I would hand feed instead of a autofeeder you might be surprised on what you see.

I moved mine a week or so before gun season opener and one of the biggest bucks we ever seen at the lease was at the feeder. Also had pics of several other shooter bucks and a bunch of does.

Do not move your whole setup. Leave the feeder and blind where they are so you can still hunt them.

However, you should move and set up on their trail for a shot at them. If you can place a tree stand in the area of their trail you won't hurt anything by doing it. The bucks might be traveling the trail to scent check the feeder.

Crossed my mind to do that too. I built my ground blind out of steel and wood. My 4 wheeler will pull it, but it's all it can do. So moving would make some noise. Right now I'm just 50 yards around the corner from where they're traveling. It's wearing me out!

Just get a ladder stand to put in that area and leave the rest where it is. I moved a ladder stand during the bow season this year and only moved it 6 feet back into heavier cover and I see twice as many deer and they can't see me.

Get a ground blind and adapt to the deer movement. Their movement will change as the season progresse due to food locations

Might have some fun with a paintball gun?

I got the same problem mainly on PM hunts. I am lucky that I have a gated cross fence so I can keep them out of the pasture I am hunting.

Looks like the general concensus is to leave my blind and feeder where they are and go buy, and set up a tree stand in the second location.

That is what I would do. Many of my set ups, I cannot shoot the feeder with a bow. I use hand thrown corn to stop them, but try to set up to catch them coming and going. I have seen a lot of bucks that will "skirt" a feeder to check it for hot does and then keep moving. Good luck up

That's exactly what the one buck I laid eyes on within bow range did. Walked close enough to see the clearing with the feeder, saw nothing, and never broke stride. Maybe a decoy should be on my list also?
