Just wanted to see how late in the morning everyone stays out in there blind. I'm am new to duck hunting and have access to a soil conservation lake. I had been leaving in the morning around 8:30, and I think I realized yesterday that I was leaving too early. I stayed a little longer and the birds started flying again. So what has been your experience, how late do the birds typically fly?

Depends on the weather and where I'm at, if its cold and drizzling birds will be moving all day long, if its calm and sunny ill stay till 10 at the latest.

Depends on who you are hunting with.

I have shot ducks at noon. If they are busted off of one location they will search for a new one. Coyotes, bobcats, hawks and, people are always making the ducks move and they have to go somewhere. Now, the action is not as fast as it is first thing in the morning.

Until I have to get rid of the morning coffee....

Depends on the scouting that I need to do later in the day. During the first half, I stay until 10:00 or so, but during the second half, I stay till noon. I was raised as a gentlemen sportsman, therefore I consider it unethical to shoot a duck after noon.

It depends on the type of ducks and if I am hunting a feed pond or a loaf pond. Feed ponds up to 11 am. Loaf ponds beginning at 8 am until about 2 pm.

On large resevoirs i stay til noon i tend to see the most mallards and pintails between 10 and noon. At tanks and small wetlands i stay til 9 but at those places i rarely have to

I stay as long as the birds are dropping in. As soon as I think it is over then it is off to the bakery for kolaches. On my private holes this is around 9-930am. Public holes stay longer.
