I was in academy the other day and went down the scent/accs isle. It was loaded for every type of deer scent available.
Have to say I have hunted pretty hard for the last 15 years in different areas of Texas and other states and cant say I have ever purchased a bottled scent. I use scent killer but none of the doe scents. I remember buying a doe in heat scent one time when I was about 13 and thats it.
Does anyone use these on a regular basis? Any real luck with them that you notice?
Wanting to give them a try for the heck of it on a nocturnal buck I am looking for.

I tried them for years, just about every one, and never really thought they did anything, though they might have hurt a bit.
However, one time I used some VS-1 that a buddy bought at a charity auction and every single deer I saw on those hunts went to check it out. However, that was on a very large ranch with almost no hunting pressure.
My place has a ton of pressure around it and I think the local deer probably associate those scents with humans.

I only use a cover scent. Yesterday I used crushed persimmons and an hour or so later, had a young buck follow me to the stand.

I use the buck bomb(tinks brand) in the little can not the bottle and I had a big buck come in on opening morning before hours so i didnt risk it and let him walk. He stayed for 15 minutes and just sniffed around the tree and ground scaped the ground a little and walked off right before shooting hours. Then my boyfriends grandpa swears by them, he has had 3 bucks (1 huge buck, during bow season, he shot a tree in some brush n missed)(1 decent buck missed him also lol) (and a 13-14" wide little 8 point missed to) and all these bucks came to the buck bomb. the last little buck we started using the tinks sticks that u light and they burn n smoke and he came to them and sniffed he was running and it stopped him. i also had 2 spikes come to the buck bomb this is the first year we tryed them. ever time I go to buy them they are sold out. Im going to try the acron smelling one it smells good lol. this is my experince with them. hope this helps!

The only thing I ever do is use natural scents that are present on the land. If there's a lot of cedars, I'll crush up some branches and rub it on my clothes. If there are persimmons I'll use those. I will never spend money on all the newest, greatest, must have scents sold everywhere.

Really IMO it just depends on the day and how the deer is feeling that day. I'll buy some everynow and then and deer will come right up to it, then some days they shy away from it. It wont ever be a gaurantee to bring em in.

I find the scent of burning propane tends to mask the smell of "processed" CiCi's pizza quite well. My truck on the other hand is gonna need a few days of airing out!
