Shot a really pretty Spoonbill drake the other day....does anyone have any pics of theirs to show? I want to get him mounted but would like to see poses for this bird....thanks

Not mine but a picture of one at the Texas Taxidermy show this last summer. I believe it was done by John Paul Barber.

Do you have pics of the spoonie you shot? Full plumed drakes this timeof year are not common. They typically don't full plum till mid late jan a lot like blue wing real. You sure it's full plum? Hate for you to waste 300 on a half plum bird.

He is in the freezer now, but did not have a full green head...it looked half brown and half green. The wings had blue streaks, and his belly was white with brown specs...it was my first spoonie, and I dont get to hunt ducks as often as I'd like. Still looked good to me!

That's not full plumage and unless you really want to waste the money. Otherwise just wait in due time you will get one. But If you decide to mount it then get a good bird taxi.
