Has anyone seen any signs of the rut? I haven't yet. I was wondering if anyone else has.

Rut should be over for Anderson county by now. I hunted there for 3 years and it was always the last part of Oct to the very first part of Nov.

The deer were rutting hard at Gus Engeling last weekend. Sunday evening, I had a group of does eating acorns under my stand when a decent 8 point came in at a trot, nose to the ground. I dropped him.

Im honeslty thinking it hasnt even started. I and several buddies hunt here in Anderson County, mostly all 20 miles apart spread out all over the county. Neither one of us have had any sign at all. I agree that it "should' be over by now, but im thinking late start. Last year by this time it was full fledge rut. But I have the privledge of only working 3 days a week so i get alot more time to hunt now, and there has honestly been no sign whatsover. Infact, just last week i started seeing bucks out of their bahcelor groups. Just my .02 cents. BTW, I hunt in Palestine, One buddy in Montalba, one In Cayuga, one in Elkhart, and one right out by Oakwood. Just throwing that out there to show how far the spread out is.

I have a buddy that drives a coal truck at the mine. He watches the deer from his 14 foot perch day and night. The deer began to chase around October 23. The first rut is over but for hunting, the second rut is the best. Bucks will have to search.

Saw a giant chasing a doe off a county road yesterday morning in the northern part of the county. They are still chasing and searching. I've been seeing the most activity around 9:30-11 a.m. Good luck!

The rut is in full swing just east of Palestine! Saw bucks chasing does from 7:15-10:30 this morning. The most action I've ever seen deer hunting. Unfortunately I killed my buck on Oct. 5th so I was just a spectator today.

The 1st weekend of November they were chasing but haven't been back since. Sure wish I was retired or something (Maybe Obama will save me) ....

I'm in northern Anderson and in the first 4 days of rifle season saw quite a bit of buck activity, I've just been seeing less deer since.. I did see a small 6pt moving with his nose on the ground Saturday and I found a fresh scrape this morning.

I had 9 doe come out today and a little 5 point spike looking buck (young one of course). I sat watching em and looked behind me to see one of the mature bucks I'm trying to take out walking the compete opposite direction. I figured he was just circling me as I was downwind and was decked out in scent cover and he disappeared for about 30 min and then showed back in same spot. Irritating that I haven't seen any sign whatsoever. I just can't figure it out!
