i got a call to come catch some hogs off the gc. so im in and just maybe ill have some pics on the 18th hole,lol. there letting us use there carts to hunt out of and paying us to do this.just never been in that eare so dont no what its like, wish me luck and maybe we can dodge the players. maybe i can shoot a 6 under.

If you need an extra hand Monty Give me call. That's about 6 miles north of my house. It'll be open but there is a creek that runs along it. Around the course and across the road are a couple of thick overgrown fields. Hope you do well!

For some reason trying to visualize that scene brings a smile to my face. Hog out in the middle of a water hazard and dogs barking and golf cart lights all over the place and some choice words being uttered, should be quite a scene after some neighbor calls the police about a bunch of teenage vandals ripping up the course and destroying the equipment. Hope someone at the course alerts the police. I am in Sherman and don't have enough money to post bail but I could bring you a couple of hamburgers to tide you over until someone can post bond.

thanks mr coal, im pumped about this hunt. i hunted the one in bowie tx and the hogs stayed across street on a ranch we couldnt hunt. my buddy has already hunted this one an caught hogs. there back and he has to hunt them, my rough bmcurs should work great for this hunt.iv got jr going with me off this forum so ill see what kind of hand he is at playing around on the golf cart i mean course, ill post story and pics if we catch anything. nabors cat or cow or horse or gator . just joking .

A few years back we hunted pigs at the golf course west of Sherman. You should have seen the looks on people's faces as we rolled up, loaded our AR's and junk into a golf cart and waited for everybody to leave! I have a pic saved on an external drive..I'll post it later!

Golf course hunting is something you just have to do for the story if nothing else!

Thought you'd get a kick outa that. How did it go?

I was there from 8:30-11:30. After having been on two unsuccessful hog-doggin trips, this one was refreshing. The dogs were out less than 10 minutes when they struck on the other side of a dry creekbed and everyone took off running. Monty and I encountered a 12 ft. sheer stone wall on the other side of the creek and had to re-route. In the meantime, one of the other guys pulled some kind of spider-man-ish climbing act right up the sheer side of that wall & got into the fight, subduing the hog.

It was a boar, about 130-140 lbs. (pic to come). I was impressed with the dogs...it was something to see all of them doing what they're supposed to and successfully taking down a hog. Also impressed that they would all hunt out to and beyond 1000 yds. They were sure passionate about finding hogs.

After that early strike, it seemed they got on a bunch of shoats & things stayed kinda wonky for quite a while. I had to leave @ 11:30 before the crew went even deeper into the property.
