Thanks, I put three feeders out for my girls to bow hunt. All we have seen so far are coyotes.

Yep. If you just put out the feeders, they will find them soon enough, along with the hogs.

Just be patient. I promise they are out there. I am kinda surprised that you have not seen any. I know a lot of people that have seen them. And have a pic of one hit on 78. Good luck to you and your girls.

Yes, I have seen a ton of deer on corp property while bow hunting hogs. It is not legal to hunt deer on corp property, but if you are close, then, yes, they are there. Have you scoured your property for tracks and travel routes?

Thanks unclebubba, are you bow huntin hogs by the north end of the lake or down by Lavon or Wylie. My 14 and 17 year old daughters are driving me crazy to go hog hunting (they bow hunt), but have had no place to go until I picked up this 100 acres in Farmersville. Is Corp land open to public?

Yes, Corp land is open to the public. I must say it is not the best hunting, but it is the closest. You must go to the Lavon lake office and get a permit (no cost but don't get caught without one).

I have seen alot of whitetail deer, and hogs in Farmersville Tx.areas..I was born there and grew up there..my family is buried there..I know alot of people there very well..I can remember when the state released the deer in the 70's..My friends and I watched the pens open and the deer runs out in the fields. From there they went every where in the bottoms...
Most all deer on private owned property and US Army Corp lands or State -county park preserve past merit--Blue ridge areas ...places...along HWY 380 bridges area north side, west side, east and south side area, fields, woods ...from spots HWY 380 toward Greenville ..
Farmersville HWY 78 to Desert..Frognot areas...all private lands
and Corps lands ...No hunting for deer on Corps lands...Private lands...better really know someone and have written letter or lease land from owner who has deer... lots of deer and very big trohpy deer...lots of 170--180-- 200 Boone and crocket club plus seen many times...Deer in Anna and Mckinney areas are coming from release years ago in those areas in the bottoms...Great job by Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept in all efforts for deer in Farmersville areas..Now lets all keep them growing and producing so our grand children will be able to see them and hunt sizeable limits the deer are not at yet..You want deer to hunt -shoot and eat..go to the hill country...Bandera,Medina --5 deer limits alot of does to harvest and the best eating..Remember You Can't Eat the Horns...
