Heading down this weekend to Gatesville so am wondering how it's going down there. Has the rut began to kick in? I hunt out west of town.

They've been chasing like crazy around here for a month. Better hurry.

They have been for a couple of weeks on our place North-west of town. Been seeing new bucks that I haven't had on camera. This week is supposed to be the peak of the rut. I'm headed that way towards the end of the week.

Buddy hunted all weekend. No bucks chasing does on the lease in Coryell county east of Evant. LO's daughter did get a 10 point though. Cold front should help. Think they will be on come Thankgiving weekend. I'm there.

I shot a old 8 point opening gun weekend. I rattled him up. Seen a bunch of does but no chassing going on. The buck did come to doe pee though. Im thinking it should be full on this weekend or next.

My Grandparents place is north of the loop on FM 217 (that the right number?) Tuesday last week on the 6th I saw at 1030 in the morning a buck chasing two does and they were in high gear when they passed by my 9 o'clock 300 yards out. They looped around and passed by my 9 o'clock at 30 yards and were in still moving fast as they headed into th cedars. That's the only chase I saw but he was following two of em. And they were all small.

x2 east of Gatesville. A little slow this weekend due to hot windy conditions.

I'm headed to Ireland Tx on the Western Coryell line Friday, really hope their busy this weekend.

same here boomer, headed to ireland this weekend myself. opening weekend they were trailing but nothing hot n heavy yet.

Thanks for all the input. Were headed down Friday so hopefully the action continues to pick up. Trying to get my son his first deer also.

we were at our place yesterday out in Izoro on the coreyll lampasas county line pretty much. the bucks were chasing. mostly smaller bucks. We were under a feeder checking the timer and a doe came out with a small eight behind her and they both seriuoulsy ran within 5 feet of us.....love is in the air, i just hope it lasts till the weekend after thanksgiving when i can get back

My cousin shot an 11 pt with a 21 in spread last weekend in Jonesboro in western Coryell county. I would upload a pic if I could figure out how.

Headed that way tomorrow afternoon to put the wife on a buck or doe. Waiting to see what my cameras have on them. Been a week and a half since I checked them.
