Where about? I have 700 acres in Stonewall county and it is a awesome hunting. We've taken several 140"-150" deer in the 5 years we've owned it and have been seeing some giants as of late with our management program and protein feeding. These places are closer to El Paso/Del Rio/Dryden etc.

Yeah I live right next to Comal county and our land prices are NUTS! There is a ranch for sale with no house on it and the guy wants $30k an acre, 345 acres and the price is just a hair under $11 million bucks. The crazy part is people are looking at it!
That's why I bought in West Texas.

My birth place is in the far far west in Texas. Most of my life has been central Texas.
West Texas? Hell no. The drinking water is horrible. The ground is also covered by mesquite tree saplings. Some thorns go right through the side of leather boots. The tallest tree is 4" and the Pecos river is a stream of toxic sludge. Winter so dry and cold, your bones will hurt. Not a single lake. Forget rain too. Maybe once a year.
There's a reason why it's West Texas. If you can walk barefoot on any land thats cheap out there....BUY IT. On a clear day you can almost see Elpaso from Fort Stockton. Oh and watch for rattlesnakes. You can even find them in your house. Don't forget the insects. No fire ants at all. Bigger meaner things took their place.

200 acres is like 2 acres in most of texas. it takes most of that to run 1 cow out there.

On a clear day you can almost see Elpaso from Fort Stockton. No more clear days anymore. The coal-fired power plants in Piedras Negras have fixed that.
