Tons of birds at the boat ramp. Get there late and be the last boat to launch and you will hammer them!

Cheers to Family, Friends and Ducks

They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.

The best bet is to get out and scout the lake for yourself. You'll be suprised how much success you can have with a little extra effort.

as far as your question...You'll find more relevant answers by talking to locals or game wardens in the area.

Everyone here is too worried about someone else hunting "their" spot and killing "their" birds on public waters to just say yay or nay as to birds being killed.

Nope the bend is really better if more hunters are out to keep the birds moving, with 186,000 acres that's alot of water to cover hammer whistle

I spent the first 9 days of season on the lake. We scouted and hunted pretty much the entire lake, north/south, La/TX. 100% honest what we found- There are birds in spots but it is NOTHING like it was last year and much more like it was from 2000-2010. There are many spots that were loaded last year that have 0 birds this year. Even some of the traditional spots that have grass and birds almost every year are without grass or birds. There are also some spots with excellent grass and no birds. If you dont scout dont expect to do very well.

Good Luck bud - hope your scouting goes well and you find a few spots holding some birds to have a decent shoot.
