Me and a friend decided he needed some more meat in the freezer so we went out tonight. We were just looking for a heavy bodied doe. We got in the blind at about 4 and the feeder was supposed to go off at 4:55. Deer were in the brush waiting as we could see young bucks chasing does in the distance. 5:30 rolls around and the feeder hasn't gone off yet. Deer were leaving because it was getting late. I ran out the the feeder and pressed test. 3 minutes later every deer we had seen came out of the brush and then some. We ended up stumbling upon a decent deer who was a must shoot only due to the fact every person feels a Blanco county buck is a shoot on site and we were hunting on a low fence. He had potential to become a big one in 2-3 years but there is no way he would live to the end of the season. We didn't score him but was 18.5 inches wide.
