do any of you vinci owners have any problems with misfires?

i think it has something to do with loading it, the click happens as follows:

1. i open the breach to see if it as a shell after loading or
2. I reload after breach "locks" open due to firing three shells.

Its not all the time, but i wonder if i am doing something wrong. strange....

Yup. Gotta really let it close hard. And you might need to clean the bolt or the receiver if it's not getting all the way there.

I have a Vinci and I don't have that problem... except the one time I half opened it to remember if I had a shell or not and sure enough click.

I don't know about that but, mine is about 2 months old and it all of a sudden wouldn't allow me to move the safety. When switched to fire it wouldn't switch back to safe unless broken down and trigger assy. was fiddled with....

Benelli click. There is a famous Turkey hunting video where bill Jordan did that on a monster Tom Turkey. Sorry to say man its operator error. Make sure the bolt slams forward all the way... not too much silver showing. Good luck hope this helps.

OMG, this is the best slumber party ever!

Only problem I'm having is when I come up out of the layout blind I keep getting my gun caught on the handle of my layout door and ejecting the first shell. Other than that it's perfect.

I can't imagine how that could even happen unless you are trying to shoulder your gun before you raise up

Just take the handle out and stick it in your bag. Only need it to unload anyway.

Hadn't had the Benelli click yet. Don't like the safety location on the Vinci though

Made this mistake two years ago with my buddy. He let me borrow his Benelli M2 and after taking two shots on a group of ducks I slid the action back just a little to make sure it had that last round chambered. Slid it gently back into place and when I pulled up on the next bird that flew in I heard that dreaded click. Only thing that made it worse was it was a banded pintail that I missed! KentuckyNative took the shot and dropped the bird after he heard my click. You gotta let that action drive it all the way home or it will frustrate the heck out of you. I shoot a Super Vinci now and know to never make that mistake again.

totally agree. I like to feel it on safe with my trigger finger.

Since it's all inertia, makes sense that it has to slam back into place to reset firing pin.

Thanks TBH.

I like the safety on the back since I shoot lefty. Easy to use my left thumb that way.

And I've gotten into the habit of checking when I reload or opening the chamber to push the bolt forward after it stops. Once in a blue moon it's setup for the click. Haven't had it happen in years.

Very funny guys. Honestly I don't know how I keep doing it. I've been hunting layouts for quite a while and never had it happen before. Oh well, not that big of a deal but thanks for your kind words.

My Belgium A5 Browning will do this if you ease the bolt shut. I found it best just to throw shell in it and hit the release button and let it close at its own natural speed. When my son first started duck hunting I bought him a new "Mooseberg" 500 pump waterfowl edition and it would do something similar if you didn't work the pump action fast and hard enough. We got rid of it after the first season because it had a whole laundry list of issues besides that; lesson learned, never hunt with someone that shoots a gun with a ported barrel, it will make you ears bleed.
