I did a few years ago, 7mm-08, it was an encore not contender.

I used to, but had to give it up when I became disabled. That was great experience, plus the wife an son knew exactly what to buy me for birthdays, Christmas and father's day. I always got accessories or a new barrel.

I shoot a .223 14" superbull with a Leupold sitting on top. I have shot deer, turkey, and a bunch of prarrie dogs with it. I used to really enjoy shooting that gun. I believe if I went back to gun hunting I would go back to hunting with pistols.

I have several Contender barrels. I have killed deer with my 357 Maximum & 30-30 barrel. I hunt more now with the 30-30 barrel because it is scoped. I plan on taking a hog with it.

Haven't taken anything with mine yet, just shooting paper. But I love the gun, I've got 45/70; 30-30; and 35 Rem barrels

I used to have a .44 with Pachmyer grips, a bull barrel, and a scope. At 100 yards off a rest, I could shoot 2" - 3" groups. At 50 yards, it shot great groups (don't remember exactly the sizes). My problem was self-confidence. I actually passed a broadside shot on a deer at 15 yards from a ground blind because I doubted myself. Although I had several opportunities to shoot deer with it, I was still stuck in the "Old School" thinking of needing a hi powered rifle. Now I think differently but now I don't have the Contender.
The funny thing is that my son killed his first deer with a Marlin .357 lever action and I had no qualms about that. I guess it was a combination of handgun and confidence dysfuntion. Now that I shoot a stickbow with wood shafts, I realize how wrong I was.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

25-06 encore- 26 in barrel and still shorter then most bolt actions, love it. EBCO bull barrel, tigger job and heavier hammer spring.
Had a 257 wby stainless octagone barrel built by MGM and I guy offered me 200 more then I paid for it so I sold it, still debating on whether to order another.

I pretty much hunt with handguns exclusively. Currently, I am hunting with a TC Encore, stainless steel, 30-06 with a 15" barrel. I have a Burris 2x7 scope on it. I shot a good size 9pt year before last with it. It is a great shooting gun!! I would highly recommend it for any type of deer hunting.

I had the same set up in 7mm08 and wounded two animals. It was probably my lack of confidence and not the gun. I wish it would have worked out for me.

I shoot an encore when I hunt on a regular basis. I have 28" barrel's in 223, 308, 7mm RemMag, 50cal black powder.
It never bothered me using a single shot, I am always picky about my bullet placement regardless of what I shoot, and have never had a problem
I have two little girls; which means if GI Joe ever got to take a vacation he should come to my house...Ahhh, Estrogen Land! Where lonely barbies abound without a single man in site.
