I've been hunting NW Montague Co. the past 3 days and I'm not seeing any chasing yet. Some big rubs are showing up around the wheat fields and I've had several nice 8 pts come to feeders, run off the does and stay and eat till dark. It should be going on but I think we may be a couple of days away. I did rattle a good 8 pt in Sunday morning.

I've been seeing rubs and scrapes for quite awhile. The buck bands have broken up but I'm not seeing any chasing. I'm actually seeing no does at all.

Just got back. Looks like they are just starting to heat up near St Jo. My buddy killed a nice 9 yesterday morning who showed up after a young 4 was chasing does on his turf.

Hunted this evening, didn't see a single deer. My brother saw a doe and a yearling and that was it. We're in NW Montague Co. and haven't seen any chasing yet. Having a lot of rubs pop up, new one's nearly every day. Spotlighted 5 does in a wheat field just after dark, no bucks with them. I'm going every day, it's gotta start any minute!!

They have been chasing for 2weeks where I'm at. Mine chase opening day every year. Seen em chasing yesterday and today. I'm maybe 5 miles from Nocona hills as a crow flies.

Okay, finally! Hunted our place in NW Montague Co. this morning and saw 6 bucks, all with their nose to the ground, if they weren't with a doe. Saw 1 on the dirt rd. as I was leaving and saw 1 standing in a field on the way home. It's on! Headed to Throckmorton now!

Saw 3 different bucks alone. Next buck was running a doe in and around the feeder last Friday night.

I hunted this morning and saw nothing! Corn all over the ground. I'm in the stand right now and am waiting to see what happens. Maybe my camera card will tell me something once I get home tonight?

Zero rut activity N of the lake this weekend. Saw plenty of does and none had bucks with them. Been a very strange year on our place as far as rut activity. Basically nothing has shown signs of being in rut.
