Do y'all think the rut is on in Collin county? I just had 5 does walk by and we still have pictures on the game cam of bucks together.

Man I don't know what the heck is going on. I was out again yesterday evening and saw no deer at all. I've been out since before daylight today and have not seen anything yet. The deer could care less about corn with all the acorns and rye grass out here. Estrous scent is not bringing in any bucks. I really am puzzled.

I'm in a creek bottom part. Ha!

And now I have to eat my words. Two biiig does passing by, but they were 100 yards out.

Had a doe almost run into my stand this morning right before daylight....nothing since. Been seeing a couple a day, ever since the warm weather came in its been slow. Had a 6 or 8 point jump the string on me about this time yesterday

After the does showed up with a hundred trees between me and them I decided to go on walkabout. I went about 200 yards west then cirled back from where I came from. Nothing.

I just get home from my stand, started at 5:30 stayed til 11:30. Nothing coming to the feeders, coyote crap everywhere. Saw a bobcat about 70 yards away. Still no sign of any deer.

My best friend came out just as I was getting ready to wrap it up for the morning. He checked his camera since he had moved to a new location. The camera was, as the crow flies, 80 yards to my north west. For the last four days there were pics of the pair of does I've been seeing, plus two bucks that are both fatbodied trophys! He hasn't moved his ground blind to the new location but said he was going to midday tomorrow.

I'm going to stay in my ground blind again this evening, but I'm thinking of finding me a spot on the ground tomorrow morning in the travel route the deer are using.

Just got back in mine, got out about 11 and walked a little ways to find a spot for a second stand... Jumped 3 does and a buck bedded down... Followed them for an hour and when i got 40 yards away THEY jumped about 20 pigs...ugh

Need a full auto rifle for the hogs, wonder how bad it would traumatize the deer?

Saw cardinals and squirells. If a coon, coyote, or hog would've showed I would've had to fling an arrow. In the morning I'm going to attempt to blend in on the ground where I know deer are traveling. Its going to be difficult to make any movements, but its my best chance for some venison.

Bout 515 two does showed up at about 40 eating on a berry tree....ive seen them before, always traveling with a awesome buck so i held off hoping he would show up... Watched them till dark and heard him grunt and they were off...may try to squeeze in a little tomarrow before the rain

Last night I decided I havn't spent much time with my wife and kids and slept in this morning (after my internal clock woke me a 0530 to go hunt). With this weather I'm glad I took a break this morning. Definately going to be out tomorrow morning. Maybe this evening.

Skipped last night, in here freezing this a.m ..... No deer yet. Woke up late and didnt get in the stand till 615,.... I like yo get in around 545

I stayed cuddled up with my doe this morning, saw nothing again last night. Heard lots of coyotes, and owls. Thought I heard a hog and a turkey, lots of sounds with no sightings. I will be out there again this afternoon.

I was out 20 minutes before legal light and stayed until 1100. I hunted one place in a hasty bling for 2 1/2 hours, moved to my blind so I could have breakfast then snuck around the woods (sure quiet with wet leaves) and still never saw a thing. I've spent the last week hunting and havn't had anything come into range in Collin County. I'm regretting letting that doe pass last Monday afternoon when I was rifle hunting in Coryell county.

Maybe the next two weeks will start looking better. I ain't quittin yet!

Hunted dawn to dusk with a short break this morning to buy gloves.... Didnt even see one deer. I was even telling myself "im going to be stiller than ive ever been in my life" and by night it felt like my eyes were going to explode, my ears were so focused that every bird i heard feltike somthing was shocking me...lol.... I know for a fact that the deer are thick where im at....just not moving
