that doesn't seem to settle anything, I predict the thread keeps going. Yeah probably. Since EVERYONE was right. It IS a law, it's NOT written in the books, and it's NOT enforced because its common practice and not clearly stated. Something she left out was : it's is enforced when asked to separate birds, some idiot claims over their limit, or someone claims under their limit when full limits are in the pile. Pile away fellas.... Unless of course the federal game warden email comes back with a different response.... .... Oh, and the honeymoons over. It's back to work, hunting, and Internet debating.

Unfortunately I think it all falls back on interpretation of the law. I'm curious to hear what he or she says.

I am sure it is an un-written law, there will be no honeymoon during duck season.

no such thing as an unwritten law, it has to be found in either statute or a court case.

14 heck it's 35 for me and I read every post... I did not read every post myself. The page I jumped in was where ishootspoonies asked a few times for reference to regulations and what the violation was and no one could answer him, so I dug it up for trivia. As for a pile in a blind or boat, I took it as a hypothetical question to answer. Many ways it could be interpreted as illegal, but seldom if ever enforced. Besides the person who started this thread was not ticketed for it even though his first posts hinted that he was. As I said in my original reply, the only time I ever heard of anyone being ticketed was dove hunters where everyone had them dumped unseparated all the dove in one guys cooler causing him to be ticketed. And if I remember it also involved other violations like maybe the over limit situation ishootspooonies girl got an answer of. For trivia there are lots of game laws that are general and vague and seldom enforced, near impossible to enforce, not enforced, or open for a wide range of loose interpretation to law enforcement. If y'all enjoyed the co-mingling one, we can dredge back up lots of old hypothetical situations that are illegal, but understandably are not enforced by the letter of the law. - For example shoot a duck, know you killed it, but unable to retrieve or find it, TPWD stance is that you still count it as part of your limit.
- Another is though TPWD does not consider birds in your home freezer as part of your possession limit, Federal does.
- Did you know that it is also illegal to guide hunting for pay on public property per TPWD interpretation of the regulations.
- How about TPWD and Federal interpretations on depredation crow hunting. Feds say no electronic calls, decoys, or lead shot. TPWD allows it.
It is just trivia is all. Like the cuban cigar I smoked in costa rica recently. Yes it is illegal for an American to smoke a cuban cigar anywhere in the world, but "Come on man!".

White trucks aren't game wardens. At least not that I know of. They are Texas parks and wildlife employees, but not wardens. Usually biologists, technicians, and wma managers.

Hey, I at least tried to close it. But if Ferris Bueller can't get y'all to go home, I sure can't. And if y'all address those four examples I posted, it would be more like 500 pages.

I've been looking for a good reason to extend the length of this thread. This morning, I found one. Bird fell in middle of lake. Too long for the retrieve as the dog is old. Decided to let bird float to shore. Which it did and ended up in some reeds on the other side of the lake near our road out. We packed up and went to retrieve the bird and watched a red-tailed hawk fly out of the reeds. What would a GW do with this situation?
