I have a buddy in Hemphill county that I usually go with. I target big big bucks while I am there and won't shoot young deer there,so it is hit and miss for me.

They said the wind is going to be bad sat 40+ hope there wrong. Figures, I am so used to wind up there I think the deer move less when it is calm Blowing 20-30 here in central now. You do have a point, if the deer in the panhandle didn't move in the wind they'd starve to death.

This ^^^^ Thinking of heading back up to Hall Co. to hunt this front coming in before the Thanksgiving trip and would love to know if the boys are on the move. Had a buddy come back yesterday with some game cam pics and I'm seeing some swolen necks, fresh battle wounds and broken antlers. Seems that it's starting to happen around us. Keep us updated and good luck!

I'll be watching as well and hoping to get up there next weekend. Got some tall skinny tined bucks running around that I fully expect to be busted up by the time I get up there. I think they break their antlers on purpose so they can get a pass.
Our place has caprock and ravines on it. Seems like they bury up in the bottom of the ravines on really windy days. Otherwise, they tend to bed on the downwind side of caprock/hills.
