I got to my stand at 6. I drug a wick with doe estrous on my boot on my way in and hung it up. There's corn under the feeder and I poured out some sugarbeet.
At 0750 a buck with the body of one year old steer walked north of my setup and could care less about any of it. He was 40 yards out and there was too many trees between me and him.
Praying he'll circle back by with a hunger on.

Thanks fellas. Y'all say your prayers for me. I've been shooting arrows since July 2011, and got pretty good to 60 yards, but have never killed anything with a bow.

Good luck but jealous, wish I could hunt in the county I lived, nice and close. Been in Collin Co. all my life but never knew anyone with land I could lease or hunt. One day maybe.

Good luck...My wife lives in Collin cty, haha, That would be cool to hunt close to HER house.

I'm still on stand. No other action since the one buck I saw. If I was here to kill squirrels and cardinals wearing combat boots I'd be full up by now.

Had to take a break. Headed home for some lunch then breaking the 14 year old boy out of school at 3 then coming back.

I broke the boy out of school early and we got in the blind bout 20 minutes ago. 80 degrees is not making me feel good about things.

Fireman, good to hear you are seeing deer. Im on a 100 acres in Farmersville and have yet to see any trace of a deer. Lots of yotes and coons. My girls are being patient but sure wish we would atleast see a doe. Good Luck

Fireman, good to hear you are seeing deer. Im on a 100 acres in Farmersville and have yet to see any trace of a deer. Lots of yotes and coons. My girls are being patient but sure wish we would atleast see a doe. Good Luck I believe I would split up time and take a rifle and drill some coyotes and coons then. I spend most of the year doing that and I really enjoy it. It is what got me started in long range shooting. Of course, I wouldn't eat em like I will a doe or buck. Best wishes!
