I am new to suppressors. I have a Rem 700 Sendero in 300 win mag that I am considering threading the barrel so I can add a muzzle brake. I have some questions.
1. Can I use a suppressor with the proper loads on this 300 win mag (without the muzzle brake of course)?
2. Are there any subsonic loads for 300 win mag or is the case too long?
3. Are there any other problems I have to think about for using a suppressor on the 300 win mag?
Thanks

1- Yes. The suppressor needs to be magnum rated for full power 300 Win Mag loads, though. For subsonic loads, you should be ok. I would recoomend Shark's Tiger Shark. I love mine!
2- Yes. I have played with some subs for the 300 Win Mag. Depending on your barrel twist, will determine what bullet weight will work in your rifle. Contact me and I could get you some sub ammo for a 300 Win Mag.
3- If you reload, a safe, maximum load without a suppressor will often be over pressure once you shoot it with a suppressor. So, watch for pressure signs. You may need to reduce your load some to avoid the pressure spikes with the suppressor.

Can the 300 win mag suppressor also be used on a 308? What is the price of the Tiger Shark?

Be careful running subs. Most suppressor companies won't warranty a baffle strike while using subsonics.
EDIT:
If you are going to switch the can around much I would get a QD system like a YHM Phantom. That way you have a nice flashider on when not using the can. And YHM makes brakes now that are QD to use with their cans.

I have a Tiger Shark (300 Win Mag rated) and use it for 300WM, 260 Rem, 308 Win, 300 black out and 223. It can be used for anything smaller than a .308 bullet, and less case capacity than a 300 Win Mag. Pricing, you will need to contact David or go on his website.

Even with a suppressor, the 300 mag IS STILL NOT HEARING SAFE. Even subsonic 300blk without a suppressor will ring your bell.
And what could you be possible shooting at...that would care, microseconds before the bullet gets there, how much noise you're making????
If you just want a suppressor...cool. On a 300mag, all it's gonna do is add weight.

The idea of putting the can on the 300 win mag is so I can have a dual purpose gun. I was intending on putting a brake on the 300 win mag so why not get a can for it too as opposed to having to setup a 308 also.
Wouldn't subsonic bullets fly true when entering the can? What is the probability of it hitting the baffles?

I'd honesly email and ask the people that sell the can, "will this mf'er blow up if I run some 300 win mag through it?" If they say hades no.....oh yeah. I'd love to hear what it would do for a 300mag. Oh.....check out this http://www.midwayusa.com/product/603848/...ead-ar-15-matteYoutube has some vids with it. It looks like it takes it down by more then half. Kids shooting 30-06's and loving it. A 30cal can will work with most 30cal bullets. So you could run a can with 300blk, 308, 30-06, 30-30, 300mag, weatherby, ruger or walmart. As long as the can is mounted right and solid. Bullet strike comes from other things going bad. Not your worry. It's legal all day long to stick it on anything the hole down the center will take. Yes, they can be used on ANYTHING below 30cal. It's just as good as with it's 30cal purpose. The bullet doesn't have a arc till a hair down the road. Not inside the can.

Even with a suppressor, the 300 mag IS STILL NOT HEARING SAFE. Even subsonic 300blk without a suppressor will ring your bell. That hasn't been my experience. Without the can, my 300WM is unbearably loud. With the can, I shoot all day without hearing protection. With and without is extremely unalike. My 300WM load is 74.9gr of H-1000 with a 208 A-Max. My rifle is already heavy, so adding a can isn't significant. And what could you be possible shooting at...that would care, microseconds before the bullet gets there, how much noise you're making???? For example, when a group of hogs come, without the suppressor, one shot and the pigs won't come back. With the can, the pigs will come back shortly after leaving the area. They'll comeback. There pigs. I can see the shorter wait being worth it. My style of hunting isn't the same. Ive seen some serious stuff being used for hogs. If it helps, Iam all for it.
