Psalm 3:3 - But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

Coyotes in season? Had a valid permit? To shoot a yote? I could not read anymore of this story. What an "S"-Hole of a state.

Face is too narrow for Mtn Lion.

Looks like an immature Gray Wolf. The populations in MN & WI have exploded to where they finally have a token season with extremely low harvest goals, now that the populations have hit nearly 10X the initial stated population "Goals". Some have been seen in IL & IA, so Missouri is surely a possibility. Choot 'em.

I would be interested to hear about the test results. Too bad it is taking 6 months for that. By then I will have forgotten about it.

Because it wasn't a coyote... which he had a permit for. I agree.... Missouri must not have enough yotes if they give out permits and have a season

Wolves are not legal to shoot in Missouri. Same goes for mtn lions. And YES we have a season on coyotes. And raccoons. And rabbits.
We have a fair number of coyotes, but don't have alot of problems with them killing livestock like I hear happens in Texas. Keeps from indescriminate killing.

That animal was taken only 10 miles from my old lease grounds

TO FURTHER ANSWER SOME OF THE QUESTIONS / STATEMENTS IN THIS POST:

"Missouri must not have enough yotes if they give out permits" - There is no specific permit for a coyote. A coyote is a target of opportunity. A general hunting license is all that is needed.

"Some have been seen in IL & IA, so Missouri is surely a possibility" - There have already been several confirmed wolves (hit by cars or shot raiding livestock) in Missouri that were traced by genetics to wolves from Wisconsin and Minnesota. Most of those have been in the upper tier of counties and not this far south.

"Betting someone will come forward and claim they lost their pet"- Possible, but sure hope they have the required permits from the State and Federal government to have that 'pet'. If not they will be in a world of hurt- both time wise (as in GRAY BAR HOTEL) and financially. I looked at the Missouri statutes. Possession of unlicensed wolves or wolf hybrids = "UP TO 15 YEARS INCARCERATION, UP TO $25,000 FINE, OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH' OUCH!!!!!

"What an "S"-Hole of a state" - Everybody has their own opinion and you know what is said about opinions: OPINIONS ARE LIKE AZZHOLES- EVERYONE HAS ONE AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE FULL OF 'S' AND STINK. Take that for what it is worth.

Been a long time since they had wolves in mid-Missouri. I used to camp out in that area all the time when I was in school at Mizzou. Looks like it really was a wolf, a young immature wolf.

If it's waterproof, multipurpose or handmade in the USA I am interested.
