Hello All,

I am an avid outdoorsman that hasn't duck hunted in more than 15 years. The last few years I have spent most of my time returning home to Arkansas and Oklahoma to hunt, mostly deer, with a close friend. Unfortunately, his job has moved him to another state.

I am very independent and do most things for myself. I just need a little help with a few things as I can't do it all by myself anymore.

I am interested in a few things...

1. Looking to building new friendships with like minded outdoorsmen that believe in hunting safe, protecting our hunting resources, and having a lot of fun.

2. Recommendations of any hunting clubs in the Dallas area.

3. Any recommendations for affordable and quality duck hunting guides in the Dallas area.

Thanks in advance for any information that you can provide.

There are several good guides in the outfitter section.

Some questions I would ask as a general rule of thumb.

Private or public water, Capt license( only required for salt water but never hurts to know if they have passed the course on boating on big water)
Insured
Years operated
How you will be hunting and type of hunting(timber, blinds, layouts, boat, etc.)
And whom will you will be hunting with(owner/operator, or on their guides)

Also ask for at least 4-5 cleints numbers from last year.

Did you hunt private or public in Ark and OK? There are quite a few good outfitters in TX. I'd look at JJ Kent outdoor seems like he's always at the top

Also if you can find a guide service that charges around 150 you struck a very good deal. I believe both services I spoke of charge that much.

X2 With BOBO's post. Barely out of single digits and giving recommendations for guides. Some sound advice if you are new to this forum, read more and post less.

In all seriousness, if you want to meet up with other like minded hunters, get out there. Do a little research on where the public waters are and go do some scounting.....you will find several good people out there when scouting.

I ran into a group of guys scouting the other day...we looked, saw no water and drove away.

I really don't care how many post someone has, if they had a good experience with a guide they should be able to pass that information along to someone who is asking.

My older email got hacked and I had to change all my accounts on forums,Facebook ,etc. I wouldn't talk about guide services if I didn't know about them. It's part of my job to provide guide serive information and every person iv spoke to about jj has been extremely happy
