Here are the photos of the hunt we had last night. We hit a few small hogs earlier in the night before we got on this monster trophy. He was out in the middle of a cornfield and had a heck of a fight with the dogs. We were lucky that we had all 4 catch dogs with us and they all made it to the bay at about the same time.

I have two little girls; which means if GI Joe ever got to take a vacation he should come to my house...Ahhh, Estrogen Land! Where lonely barbies abound without a single man in site.

I didn't have my scale out with me last night so I can't say exactly. I am always surprised at how little a lot of the really big boars that we kill weigh due to the fact that they aren't big and muscular and fat.. they are just big and muscular. I can put a 250# hog in the back of the truck on my own ...as long as I have a few min afterwards to sit there and tell myself that I will never do that again. We had already cleaned that big boar and I couldn't but barely pick up his front half off the ground.

I would say that cleaned he was close to 300lbs.. so live weight with blood and gust was probably 340-360

Tusks were close to 5in exposed.. He was a nice one.

Wow, that is a beast. Congrats on the kill. Heck I can't get a 200 lb pig in my truck by myself. I struggle with the 150lb ones.

That's a heck of a hog you guys got. Did you get a mount done or a skull mount or anything? Congrats!

Farm labor... helps you get the big ones into the truck
(and those are the live weight..I meant the 250# live weight hogs after they are cleaned I can put in the truck...I don't know if I could get a 250# carcas into the truck on my own!!)

They were just going to do a skull mount on that thing.. it is a shame they didn't have more money to spend on a sholder mount that would have looked great!

Knife? That's crazy man! Maybe I could have been talked into that when I was younger, I'm too fat and slow now.

When it is a big hog it is a good idea to have two people.. one to grab a back leg to keep him from spinning, and one to do the stabbing.. we stab for the heart. On big hogs I advise everyone to use a knife with 11" or longer blade... there have been times I wished I had a sword though!! It is always exciting, and nobody that I hunt with has ever gotten hurt by the hogs. However, I have had some clients and friends that at the last moment when I turned to them to say, "Ok Stick HIM" they have been GONE!!! Back at the truck in the bed or on top of the cab.... GONE!!! Because they thought they were going to get eaten!!! Usually it is not even when we have the big hogs that they run off!! It is a lot of fun to tease your buddies for the rest of their lives if this happens!
