I have a Kimber Custom Carry II. I need an extra magazine, what do you recommend as the best after market mag?

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I'll second that. Have several McCormicks, and they are great.

Mecgar mags are very nice and work well in my Springfield. I also have a kimber mag that works well too. Only one i've tried that it didn't like was a Colt mag.

Thanks fellas. When I took my CHL refresher, the instructor recommended the Mecgar, but their website says it's a 10 or 14 rd and my kimber mag is an 8 round. I sent an email to Mecgar, but since they are in the NE, I doubt I'll get an answer very soon. I may wander over towards Joshua and see what they have, I like the $22 price tag, the Macgar's are $37.50 +shipping.

Interesting comment about "aftermarket" as it is my understanding that factory supplied magazines are manufactured by Kling Madaba Dagalong of Turkey. That's not a bad thing as it is an ultramodern setup there.

I've never had one problem with the Wilson Combats, cannot say the same for the cheap kimber mags.

+1 for Wilson Combat. I have several dozen of their 7-round mags and no issues at all with them.
I have tried Chip McCormick 10rd mags and they had numerous problems.
I have several Kimbers and use Kimber mags in them with zero issues. I have tried the KimPro mags and they're not worth the extra premium over Wilson. When I buy extra mags, I wouldn't buy Colt or Kimber or Springfield, etc. - I just buy Wilson.

Ok, so I went to order the Wilson Combat mag from their website and they want $9.95 for shipping. Can these be purchased locally in Fort Worth, or is there somewhere else online with cheaper shipping?
