I like to hunt by myself but have my wife and sons back at camp. I do draw the line at standing around a "meat pole" just some things I'm not willing to even try...lol

I like both. Hunting alone I've probably killed more Deer. Hunting with others , I've killed more brain-cells.

I grew up hunting with a big group of friends then guided my boys through there years learning . When they didn't have time to hunt I enjoyed hunting by myself. Now I hunt with my son and his friends and it is nearly the best time I have ever had . The best times were just hunting with them . How ever you hunt I wish all a safe and successful season .

Our hunting is all family. Some of us have campers on a different place and stay on weekends lots. Rarely does anyone leave the deer pasture gate after the evening hunt until everyone is out and accounted for. Generally we have a pow-wow and share stories and lies. Being a family hunt many of us live locally and same can be said of weekday hunts. We have a board with 8 numbered nails and eight washers available. You pick your blind when you enter the pasture and cover your nail with a washer. Works well for us annd keeps us aware where other hunters are located. As you leave you are responsible for uncovering your nail. Seldom do I leave until all washers are removed.

Sitting here hunting now, on a lease that I am the only hunter on it. Enjoy hunting with others but sometimes just getting away solo hunting is great. Will bring a new hunter or two out for their first hunt during rifle season like I always try to do every year

I can take it either way as long as my company is quiet and ok with it.
If I'm alone, I can pick my nose while waiting for the big one (deer, I mean) and not have to worry about appearances. Or who hears or smells your farts. But then, that can also be "cherished" in deer camp as well. Nothing like a little "buck snort" to wake up the gang. Maybe that's what makes deer camp such a good place. You need not worry about acting the way you must at work. I just spit tea all over my computer reading that one!!! LMAO!

Rex, I would have no problem hunting with you, your easy to hide "Here they come, get behind that blade of grass!" Not sure how I missed this one I wouldn't mind going with you either. Would have plenty of kill opportunities after you missed...but I am sure you would blame it on someone else

I prefer to hunt alone, but really enjoy sitting in the stand with the kids, which amounts to 90% of the time. It's always nice to roll back into camp and BS with the rest of the hunters, dominoes, poker, etc...
We have a great crew this year, so it should be a lot of fun

I don't have a preference either way. There are times that I enjoy being in the woods by myself and spending days alone. There are other times that I enjoy hunting alone, but coming back and seeing what everyone else has seen or shot at camp. And..there are other times that I enjoy going hunting with someone else.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

refuse to share a stand with anyone except close family or kids. buddies can go climb a tree, do not want to sit and listen to them yak about wife/girlfriend/work/truck issues, have done it before, never again, they wind up drinking my beer and bumming a chaw. learned my lesson on all that bs.

Depends on the company. If it's Freddy the Freeloader, I'd rather be alone. Many of my other buddies make camp life quite enjoyable. But sometimes I enjoy the peace, quiet and solitude.

Would rather hunt alone in my stand. My pet peeve is when I take someone hunting and they mistakenly wear the wrong Jacket. You know, the one that every time they move the jacket makes a noise. I do however prefer company in camp. I hunted a whole week last year where I was the only one at camp. Gets pretty lonely in the sticks.

I hunt in the nude, so I'd prefer to be alone. So that phrase "Yes, there's just something special about everyone heading out in the morning and then later regrouping around the meat pole" takes on a whole new meaning when you have guest hunting I bet.

I prefer to have somebody there for company. Not so much in my stand after to share what we saw, chores, and safety. I have seen a few accidents at the lease and with nobody there could have been bad.

I enjoy hunting with my kids and family. I grew up hunting with my cousins, uncles, and grandparents. It was always a time to get together and tell stories. I like people in the deer camp. Some of them don't like me around, because I'm in law enforcement. Most are okay though. Deep down though I am a introvert. If you asked anyone I work with or am around a lot, they would not say so. Besides when im out with my kids, im happiest alone. I could stay in the wood or on the water and never speak to another soul.
