To rich for my blood. I'll stick with earplugs. You're not supposed to hear the one that gets you anyway.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I will have my suppressed 300 Whisper in the stand, but not for deer. If there are hogs about in the morning when I get to the stand, no need waking up the whole woods.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

i just think that it isnt as sporting personally. usually when you shoot, it is loud right? well the suppresor takes that away and just IMO, some of the sport of it. I guess i see it as, if you shot at a deer and say you missed, usually they run off. (most of the time) with a suppresor, i just see a better chance of them not getting spooked, or as spooked. this is just me, nothing aganist people who use them, just not for me.....kinda like a crossbow.....

They will also hear the shot. Suppressors do not eliminate all the noise.

I agree drakecutter, I think the people who believe the shot will be totally silent are the ones who have yet to experience it.

It is not a silencer but a noise suppressor. There still will be sound not like in the movies. I don't own one but I bow hunt mainly so I don't really need a suppressor.

I love it when the sound of the bullet hitting the target is louder than the actual shot!
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

If a deer is standing at 100 yards and you decide to shoot a rabbit out of the stand with a 22 mag, do you think the deer is just going to stand there? To the OP, I already shot a doe with one last weekend. It was nice not having to jack with ear plugs

If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

I will need a suppressor opening morning after 3 Allsups burritos on the way to camp friday night. Check that, will just make sure I hunt a stand with a suppressed chair(read padded)

I have used my suppressor to shoot at a group of hogs and it seems to confuse them

Funny how people bash things they have never played with or heard. Just because u have a suppressor on your rifle doesn't mean the deer won't hear it. Last time I checked deer have GREAT hearing and a can doesn't make a rifle completely silent. Yes they are still pretty quiet especially with subsonic but hell if I can hear the damn thing I know they can! And even if the deer couldnt hear the gunshot that make it unsporting? What about how hunting with bow is quieter than my suppressor . Does that make bow hunting unsporting? I kinda think sitting at a feeder for hours waiting for deer to come eat and dropping them while they feed is a little more unsporting than killing one with a suppressor
