I bought a CVA Buckhorn back in the spring wanting to try to get into ML. I have fired it maybe 5 times to try to sight the scope but the scope wouldn't adjust right. I was wondering where to get a used scope for it or will any scope work? Also any advise or tips would be welcomed.

Remember that the flight of the bullet varies if you're not consistent with the amount of powder you're using, and the cleanness of the bore. If you're not using pellets of powder, make sure you measure well. And clean the bore after every couple of shots because you want to know how it will shoot out of a clean barrel (like hunting - you don't get a couple of warm-up shots which will load up your barrel).
As far as scopes go, redchevy is right, and good scope will work. I used a red-dot on mine when I first got it, but after I started shooting longer distances, I got a 3-9 scope.

Any scope will work, however if your using a cheaper scope (tasco, ect) then the internal parts can be broken from recoil if using max loads.....a good cheap scope I have see work on muzzle loaders and magnum rifles is the Burris full field II

I do alot of muzzle loader hunting and here is my advice.

1. Load it the same way EVERY TIME start to finish.
2. Use the BARNES muzzle loader bullets when hunting, they are not cheap but they are the best performing ML bullet.

3. It will be easier to load your rifle if you swab the bore between shots with a patch soaked with some kind of LIGHT solvent (Muzzle loader specific) I carry 5-6 patches soaked with a citrus based solvent(made for ML's) in a 30mm film capsul.

4. THEY ARE A BI*&% to clean! get the remington #209 primers that burn cleaner and will help keep the breech from getting fouled. Get your self a BIG can of that foaming bore cleaner.

When its time to clean remove the breach plug and drop it in a mason jar full or REALLY soapy water, and fill the barrel front to back with foaming bore cleaner.

Let it sit for 30min and blast out with gun scrub then you can take a bore brush to it for a few strokes and repete the foaming cleaner.

People who are used to modern rifles just dont understand how fast the bore on muzzle loaders will rust if you dont clean them.

When storing them in the off season coat the inside of the bore with GREASE and after every time you clean it coat the threads of the breech plug with grease.....if you think a shotgun choke can get stuck you aint seen nothing until you see a breech plug welded in with corosion.
