So I finally got todo some bow hunting this season.. The guy I was supposed to have a guaranteed spot who supposedly would never lease his land leased it. Grandpa let me head out to his lease since I just got home from the military and havnt had time to scoop n get on a good lease. I hunted Saturday morning and night and Sunday morning. well I seen a total of 10 does no bucks (couldnt shoot a buck there anyway due to lease rules) but I could never get in on a shot. everyone on that lease is rifle hunters and stands are 150 yrds away from feeders easily so with waht little material i had i made a ground blind. approx 30 yrds from a feeder. well the deer would not coem to the feeder and kept coming from my backside and working a ridge about 150 yrds behind me. no wy to make a ground blind there i stuck the spot i made out again this morning. well first light 3 doe came out same place and I was so scared to stalk them cause the open field and no cover but I wouldnt have forgave myself for not trying. I crawled for 100 yards to get in range of 50 yards but jsut couldnt get myself to let the arrow fly. at 50 yrds and wind gusting in my face i couldnt risk shooting a deer and gut shooting her (or missing her lol) and her just going to waste. I would have gotten farther in range but the fence keeping me from pursuing father was 6 strands and there ws no way to go under or over without spooking them or getting stuck by barbs. anyway after the hunt sat. night i was walking back to camp about 5 min before complete dark and i seen this poor fella. since the does didnt get the muzzy he did. didnt weight it or anyhting but my grand father ahs seen billions supposedly and was amazed at the sixe of this one. i also got a coyote with my bow friday evening when i got there and was learning the lease that i stalked and called by just making some squeaking rat noises. turned him around and got him at 30 yrds. no picture unfortunately tho.
