Anyone having any luck thus far in Coke?

Your in Coke? Maybe I'll see ya out there and buy ya a brewsky. Haven't heard from anyone I know but I think there was someone from on here that took a good 8 for the area.

Right outside of Blackwell.

Saw lots of deer, fewer bucks, all 3.5 or younger, up to 8 point on opening weekend. hunting near the "Y" south of Blackwell.

Here is a picture of a nice 10 taken on the lease this past friday 10-12-2012. He was taken in the front pasture. Sure is a nice buck you have been posting pics of. I saw several bucks this past weekend, but none I wanted to shoot. I have pics of a couple that may be shooters, and I am hoping they will come by so I can get a closer look. I will be out trying again this weekend.

Nice west tex buck. I'll be just north of there in Nolan county opening weekend of rifle season.

I had a small buck chasing does all over the place this past friday. A decent 8 that came by approached the one doe that was at my feeder, and when she ran off into the pasture, he followed. The hocks on the buck that was taken were nearly black, and I have noticed several scrapes that have been made during the last week.

When you say front pasture are you talking about the 2 areas near the front gate or the front pasture thats part of the main lease?

He looks alot like the buck I had a few pics of back in early September before he vanished.

He looks a lot like the 10 I saw last year in that second front pasture that backs up to the huge prairie on the north side.

That is a nice buck. Can't wait to get back in the stand. I will be down Thursday night hopefully in time to check my cams then swing by camp.

I just got back from Robert Lee. Only killed a hog and with all the rain we had, the deer are not coming to the feeders. Had fun though.

Ill be down there for a 5 day bowhunt starting Monday afternoon. I can't wait!

No luck for me this weekend. I did have some bucks fighting yesterday evening for about 5-10 minutes but they were in the brush and I couln't see them from my ladder stand. I also had a short fight this morning right before light.

That is interesting to hear dlrz71. Coke County covers lots of ground. I hunt the extreme NE corner, between Bronte and Blackwell. You anywhere in that area?

no, just NW of there.

I hunted 4 days last week and the deer were everywhere Thursday and Friday. Saturday it was like someone flipped a switch. Nothing. We did have several decent bucks chasing does around. The poor does couldnt seem to get to the feeders before a buck chased them off. Going again this weekend so my son can take a shot. Theres a 3.5 year old 6 point with no brow tines we want him to pop. I really think the cold front last week had them moving, once it got hot that shut them down.
