I had back surgery (28 screws and rods) 3 months ago and my hunting dream has been destroyed. I had a deer lease in Jacksboro that I shared with 2 other hunters (which are brothers-in-law). To make a long story short, we, the hunting party, got into a verbal fight where we ended up selling our spot for the remaining of the year. The money that was agreed upon was given to the lease director who was suppose to give it to us and to have us sign away our rights to the lease. We have sent emails and a certified letter to the lease director who is refusing to answer and give us our money. To our way of thinking that makes the agreement null and void. We haven't signed anything taking our names off the lease, but the person who took our spot has signed a new agreement and is hunting out of our old spot. Do you think we still have the legal right to finish out the season? We need some serious advice here.

Go to the local JP court, in the county where the lease is, and file small claims, naming the lease director as the respondent. No lawyer needed.

I'd go to small claims court. I wouldn't want to hunt where other guys with guns (who have proven to be dishonorable) may challenge your right to be there.
You may want to look into including the landowner in the suit. That tends to get manager's attention.

Talk to the land owner and advise him of your situation and cost the lease director the lease and take it over your self and be the lease manager

Small claims court. If he doesn't show he loses. Then you might be able to get the Sheriff involved. Unless he's the Sheriff's DB brother...

Court room will tune him up, if he's a no show then he Looses, if he shows then he gets to explain to the judge why he's a thief and a jack wagon! People have NO ethics at all these days.

Save all your correspondence, letters, envelopes, etc. Him keeping your money might fall under a criminal statute in Tx. I'd go talk to the local LE organization, be it the Sheriff Dept., or a local P.D.
If they won't do anything saying it's civil, then go to small claims court.

over $825 in the State of Texas is a felony.
Talk to the land owner first, showing him the proof.
Then file a claim IF the land owner does not work it out.
Generally speaking, as a land owner, if something like this occured, all I would do is fire the lease manager and give access to those that "I" recieved money for.
My bets is the land owner got paid for you guys but when new leases were filed, he never saw more money and never knew what was going on.
Just a guess.
Good luck either way!

So the lease director is the middle man between yall and the new hunting party? If so the new hunting party knows nothing about yall getting jerked around? If so, it may not hurt to mention to the new hunting parting what is going on. Don't pressure them, just let them know whats going on. That way if it does get all straightened out that party is pissed at yall.
