I slept in Sat and drove out East that evening. Got up this morning and busted about 6 deer (like a covey of quail) right at my freakin stand. And there's not even a feeder there. I put a lock-on up about 70 yds or so from a group of White Oaks that are LOADED. Figure I could get in there and either catch them coming or going to them. Then went to another stand this evening but off the feeder. Closer to a MASSIVE White oak that is loaded as well. Had a couple of deer come to the white oak, then ran off. Looked up and here comes Mr Boar. Took a shot and missed. Feeder was cleaned up from the morning spin too. Gonna try again in the morning since I don't have to be back at work till Tue.

You knew what the forecast was. Why did you bother going out?

If asking me, I had eyes set on hogs and had a 257wby riding shotgun... Saw deer, no hogs.

We didn't even get to hunt - forgot to bring a boat so we could get to the stands. But it was nice to sit around and visit.

We all went out to hunt Saturday morning, I stayed in the blind and got soaked. Went back to camp and everyone was back before me. None of them even got in their stands. I didn't want to be the wuss and stayed out there and got soaked just to see 1 2.5 yo 5 point and they all went back to the camp and stayed dry. So much for the hardcore bowhunters on our lease.

Saturday afternoon, was a bust bad wind for me and off and on rain. Sunday morning got to my stand well before dawn, didn't need a flashlight at all to get there was casting a shadow. Got to my set up and the deer were having a party under my feeder, they flew out of there and never saw another deer all morning.

Tough weekend to hunt.

Yah it rained all weekend where I was too. Disappointing to say the least.

But we needed the rain more than I needed to hunt.

This weekend was my first attempt at archery season, and I thought I was gonna drown. We got 8.5 inches of rain. 4WD couldn't get me anywhere, so I slogged it out completely on foot. I've had a Primos Ground Max blind set up for two months now about 25 yards from an active feeder. That blind leaked like crazy. I had 3 inches of standing water in my blind by 9am Saturday. I didn't see anything. Terrible weekend.

Man, all I know is that it was raining, but wasn't going to let that stop me from going out. Donned my rain suit over my camo, jumped on the four wheeler for the mile ride, parked and walked about a quarter mile to the DB pop up. I got settled in, took off the rain jacket, dried my face and enjoyed the morning. Saw a couple of doe, but they never came to the feeder. About 9:15 a.m. I had a boar come in and he was introduced to the sharp end of a Carbon Express and expired in about 30 yards. Hunted that afternoon and another boar met the same fate.

It was a great time.

Good to know I wasn't the only one with nothing to talk about. As soon as I got to my stand it started raining, got soaked for about 30 min. and decided to hop into my big blind a few hundred yards away. Little did I know I would be in it for the rest of the day. I thought it was nice just to be there listening to the rain on the roof, but about 6 hours later it wasn't much fun anymore. Never saw a thing!!!!!

Went to IL, Moon hurt us some but I saw several 160" plus giants but couldn't seal the deal. Got a little wet later in the week but had a good week of hunting in all.

Saturday morning I stayed back at camp because of the rain but Saturday afternoon it was just raining off and on so I went out and shot my biggest buck to date body size and horn size and my first buck with a bow as well
