Fellas,

I have a pair of Cabelas Supermag 1600 waders and absolutely love them. They are about 4 seasons old and still kicking strong.

That being said, they are hot as heck during the early season. Anyone have a favorite pair of waders that are good during warmer 40+ degree days? I would prefer chest waders. Had a pair of waist highs and they just didnt do it for me.

Thanks!

Is it duck season yet?

One more for the Cabela's breathable.

If you don't mind the price, or stumble across some in the Bargain Cave get the Cabela's Millennium chest waders. I can't imagine any better waders for areas that require a lot of hiking or thick mud. You can also fold them down when you want waist high.

I love them at least.

the Orvis light weights will be the last pair you ever buy. I have never seen anything like them. 100% Gaurnteed Rips, Tears anything they replace them, no questions asked. My hunting buddy has been wearing them for 15 years and they have replaced them 3 times. I am still on my 1st pair. Go to the Orvis web site and check them out.

These are the absolute best... http://www.simmsfishing.com/site/g4_guide_stgft_wader_2007.html

They aren't cheap, but the G4Z is the only Simms wader with a zipper. At some point that zipper will be worth $500.

I have a pair of Simms waders for fly fishing, but I never thought to use them for duck hunting as they are not camo. You are correct, they are the absolute best waders.

The breathables ones are just so much easier to move around in and lighter. Plus this is Texas and I really don't hunt very often when it's below freezing...when it is I'll just layer up...I have a very nice warm pair of Drake wader pants I'll put on. I'm got down into the 20s.

thanks for the input guys. the simms waders look interesting, but im not sure i could justify to myself (or my wife) spending that kind of money on waders. but, hey, to each is own i guess. hope everyone has a good season!

Academy has stocking foot for $50, $700 for waders no kidding? That is too much, I have to throw a red flag. grin

Jorts and old pair of converse...make sure the jorts are 2 sizes too small and a braided belt. Spray some Scotch Guard on them and they will be water proof

Don’t listen to him, he is an old grumpy duck hunter he makes jokes no one understands. He is talking about Cabela's Wader Jeans, he is too fat to fit in them, so he is just tired of everyone else talking about them.

Link below, dang good waders for warm weather, and hiking. up

I bought breathable Frogg Togg Hellbenders with the Bootfoot. Just got them in the mail but they seem ok. Anyone ever tried them?

Used neoprene in the past but tried breathables last year and can't go back. Hit a stump, fell and ripped a hole in my boot with a bolt so had to order new ones and decided on the frogg toggs.

im with you on this..I dont know why you would want to wear waders when its hot. Im not skeered to get wet...I prefer just wet wading in a pair of old shoes. Waders are too hot no matter what they are made from.
