Im currently fletching my Blazer vanes with Gorilla Super Glue using an Arizone Mini jig. Im not using wraps currently. When i fletch 3 arrows it seems after 20-30 shots with each arrow i have atleast 1 vane that starts peeling off. Do yall think this is a glue issue, or prep issue. My prep consists of scraping all excess glue and cleaning the shaft with a scratch pad and comet cleaner and letting them air dry. Anyone have a better suggestion for prep or glue issues? Thanks.

I use the same jig but my prep consists of scraping off all old vanes and glue with a razor blade then cleaning the arrows with Bohning SSR shaft surface cleaner and letting them air dry, no wiping. I attach my vanes with Bohning Instant Gel. Have not had a single vane come off since i started using these products...

It's the glue. I have the same thing happen to mine but I don't mind it. Same glue. You could go with some more expensive glue but there really isn't a need...unless it's bothering you that much.

Use AAE Fast set Gel. I use the same jig.
I only use gorilla glue for inserts.

I used to work at a bow shop long ago and I fletch mine the same as I did then..

Carbon Arrows: Scrape, wipe with actone, regular superglue.. I still have ACC's fletched from 15 years ago..

Aluminum: Scrape, wipe with actone, Fletch tite..

the key is after the glue sets put a small dab of glue where the front tip of the vane meets the arrow.. works for both aluminum and carbon..

Hope this helps

Alright im thinking i will try to change the way i clean my shafts before fletching and see if that yields more longevity for my vanes. Plus i finally got my arrow wraps in so that should help as well. Thanks.

I scrape and clean with rubbing alcohol and use loctite gel super glue. Holds great.

After I use fletching cement to secure the fletching, I put a drop of super glue at the front and back of each feather. Works for me.

I use laquer thinner as the prep agent for my arrows. I also will dip a cotton swab in it, and wipe down the attaching surface of my Blazers to get any kind of crud off there. They stick pretty darn good now.

Be careful if you wipe down some wraps, the printing might wipe right off too!
