This is my first post on this forum so bare with me. I am a fishing guide on Lake Texoma and while at the boat house a couple of weeks ago I had a beautiful female GSP come running up to my truck. I have tried posting adds in the newspaper and in the local gas stations but no luck finding her owners. I already have a GSP and a lab so i have no need for another dog. She's very sweet and has had her basic training. She sits heels marks double bumpers and does not break on the throw. I would love to keep this dog but i just dont have the time and money to feed another large dog. I am going to consider selling her if I cant find the owners in the next week or so. I found her in Pottsboro TX on lake texoma. I havent set it up to be able to put pics on here but i can text or email pics and videos of her. I also have no ideo what a dog like this would be worth. The vet said shes very healthy not fixed and 1-1 1/2 years old.

if you end up putting her up for sale I would like to see some pics if at all possible... finally talked the wife into letting me get a huntin' dog.

I'd be a little reluctant about selling a lost dog. I would surly never buy one. You can't need $400 that badly.

I hope you guys read my post on the other thread. I'd love to not need 400.00 that badly but i also didnt want this dog to have injuries I wouldnt have known about without a vet check or give my other dogs (female GSP and female Lab) a disease or something I couldnt see that she had.

I am going to consider selling her if I cant find the owners in the next week or so. Umm you can't help but notice why people would get the impression you would be selling the dog you found rather than just trying to recoup the vet bills.

true, I should have worded that a little differently. Chalk that up to my whole 6 posts. Either way I want to find this dog a good home and not be out to much money. Sorry for the confusion.

That's a mighty expensive vet you use.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I'm assuming that the vet scanned her for a chip and didn't find one? Also, I would put an ad on craigslist with a picture in the lost & found... they have a "texoma" section and it's free. Maybe call the animal control or sheriffs office in the area that she was found.
If you sell the dog, the rightful owner will have no chance whatsoever of recovering her. I understand you not wanting to have to take care of another dog, but I bet that pup would like to have her family back also. There is also the N. Tex GSP rescue that might be willing to offer some resources or ideas to reconnect dog/owner.

The vet did everything including x-rays on her limping back leg. Just put an add on craigslist I didnt think of that so thank you for the suggestion. The first day i found her i put her information up in every vet in town and the grayson county pound has all her info as well. thats how i found my GSP some lady called the pound and they called me. But that was because i also gave the pound my info to call if they found or heard of one.

it really sounds like you are doing all you can for her and should be commended for that. I really hope it works out for you and her both. Thanks.
