I'm considering a hitch cargo rack for hunting. There are some 48x20 models with a 5" side that are rated at 500lbs. Has anyone used these for hauling dead deer/hogs/squirrels? Is it adequate?

I built one for a jeep I had about that size. I can tell you it was built better than the ones I see on vehicles today.

I welded up one that would probably haul 500+ lbs. Took it on vacation to Destin FL about 2 years ago and have not used it since. Come and get it for $100.

It would haul the deer and hogs, but the squirrel would likely put you over the weight limit.
