AMEN!!!!! Brother....

Those that do bad things to others will pay one day, in this world or the next.

Right until the newbie untrained "duck guide" swamps the boat with customers and kids in it in 30 degree weather.

Laugh but its happened on here mins the kids. The duck hunting "GUIDE" industry needs a min USCG stamp on it. That way they atleast have some boat training. Call it consumer life protection tax if you want, but it would be for the best

Well then I should just be able to pick up a badge and say Im law enforcement then. If Im a bad cop then people will hear about it and I wont be able to get hired to be a cop. Or how about I practice medicine " My friends all say Im really good at putting band aides on "

By the way I stopped dipping today

Add the driving to that list.Let everybody drive without a license and see what happens. I'm all for less government unless people start harming others in the name of freedom.

That brings my next question. If I do enough research, and put a lot of effort and due diligence into it, will I find places I can walk into? I don't mind a long walk, but I don't want to waste my time, or crowd the locals who have spots they've hunted for years, and have dibs on. I want to respect the entire system,.

In the good old days, there was a lot of wide open spaces for duck hunters on the bay.

Now, the airboat "guides" (charge you just to drop you off) have built blinds in what seems to be every 300 yards all over the bay. It is a cluster and it is not about to get any better.

A few years ago, we found a great spot that we regularly shot our limits of redheads, pintail, wigeon. Great hunting and out of sight from the blinds. Of course, one morning, an airboat pulls up and drives by (he was boom scouting).

Next season, there was a blind in the spot that we had hunted.

Fun place down there. My advice would be to hire an airboat guide to drop you off. They already have the great spots locked up and its not worth the extra money to hunt with an actual guide who sits with you all morning.

Well,

Majority of duck guides on the coast are not licensed. If they are it is because they guide for fishing also.

Most take you on a airboat ride, drop you off, and pick you up. If the guide actually stays with you, it is a different story.

At the time in question, the hunting will slow very considerably for most ducks. You can still shoot redheads standing naked in the middle of the water waving flags. Guide not necessary in this situation unless you are hunting private with freshwater.

The area in question provides many walk in spots nearby. Yes there is competition for these spots.

While there are always risks involved, Sand is much safer than mud, and there is no ice to contend with.

Blinds are all public although you may converse about it,, and they are spaced much closer than 300 yards in most cases.

Aransas pass is good hunting, it is also covered in hunters, guides, blinds, and shallow water that makes you cross deep water first.

Quitting dipping is easy once you put your mind to it. I'm 10 months in.

Good luck.
