I've scouted ray Roberts and bardwell a little bit. Has anyone been out to both?
Thoughts or successes or non success?

You'll learn that (on this forum) questions like that are not well received. I'll let you figure out why.

WHats funny is how long it took THIS forum to finally figure that out. This place used to be a potlickers wet dream. roflmao

New and young hunters on here finally caught the drift of what the seasoned public fowlers already knew. Ain't fun getting setup on or fuddybuck'd is it?

I will help You out. Texoma still has room for a few more blinds. Better hurry, good spots are running out.

I've had a couple spots blown up by big mouths. First time it happened I got PO'd, but now I take in stride. Anytime anyone runs their mouth on here about a spot I hunt, I'm done going there. I'd much rather see fewer birds by myself (or my group) and scratch out a decent hunt than a ton of birds and ton of hunters to deal with. Running their kazoos, setting up 50 yards down wind 5 minutes to LST, shooting birds cupping up to my spread.

Getting too old to deal with stoopid and/or selfishness.

I don't think THIS forum needed to figure out anything other than how to be somewhat civil when the inquiries get to specific and how to shutdown the ignorant replies from the so called "seasoned" hunters.

And THIS formum managed to do all that and still discuss duck hunting on a duck hunting forum. Imagine that.

If someone mentions a spot that I hunt on this forum then I am hunting in the wrong place or pushing my luck.

Check out the corps website here: http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/states.cfm?state=TX . From there you can go to the website of each lake and see where the hunting areas for each lake are, if present. As to specific spots on each lake, you'll have to find those yourself. I personally like to get as close to the river that feeds the lake as possible, but then again I like shooting wood ducks.
I'd be sure to physically stand where you're wanting to hunt before the season rolls around. Changes in water levels makes planning soley off a map unreliable, and scouting pre-season allows you to pick out backup spots to handle rises/drops in water level.
Don't forget to check out the rivers as well. Be sure to get out of city limits of course, but if you've got a kayak you can usually get away from all the pressure on the lakes. River hunting is a bit different than hunting lakes, but it can be picked up easy enough.
Folks that hunt around DFW are a bit tight in the mouth since there's limited public land for a bunch of hunters. Do a little scouting before the opener and you aught to do pretty good. Best of luck to you.

Hayraker,

What is with you and the spell checking? I'm starting to think it's kinda your thing. It's funny, though.
