Bow hunting in Hall Co. was slow this weekend so after some hard hunting all day Sat and also Sun morning we decided to put the bows away and break out the rifles in hopes of spotting some hogs to liven up the weekend a bit before the trip back home. We found a good ridge to sit on and glass and it wasn't 5 min later that this dude appeared on his Sun stroll on the other side of the draw. I grabbed the range finder as my buddy grabbed the 25-06 and he was 299 yards from where we stood. He suddenly stopped broadside and presented the perfect shot opportunity. A few seconds later a shot rang out. We both noticed dirt fly on the hillside so thought he must have shot over him. A split second later, his back legs collapsed and he dropped in his tracks. Once on him, we realized that the bullet entered right behind the right ear and exited the left ear. Not exactly sure that is where my buddy meant to hit him, but never the less, it was a perfect shot and the hog dropped right where he stood. We have some monster boars on this place near Turkey, TX. Not exactly sure what he weighed and no pics of other hogs to compare but if I had to guess I would say he was in the 250-300lb range. Enjoy!

That boar looks almost exactly the same size as the one I killed Saturday evening, congrats on your kill.
