I started a live hunt in the deer hunting section and it didn't go as planned. Between late nights and chasing deer I wasn't able to keep up with it. Anyways here are the pics from our hunt. Now keep in mind this is my dad's 1st time deer hunting. Colton and Travis showed him a great time and got him some good deer.

5 mins after Colton and I sat in the blind we got a text saying 8 point down. We thought it was bs but here is the result of a good shot by my dad. This is his 1st deer and way bigger than the spike I killed when I 1st started hunting. He was excited and all he could say was that we were wrong for not telling him he could kill a buck. I've kept the fact he could shoot a buck a secret for about a year and had him thinking he was going on a doe hunt.


I passed on some really nice deer and was able to connect on this nice 8pt. I saw him when I was hunting in Jan and both his main beams were broke off at his eyes. I'm glad I got him early before he could fight too much. This is the biggest bodied deer I've ever killed and also my 1st double throat patch deer.



To my dad's surprise I set it up with Colton to get him on a bigger buck than his 1st. I headed out to go bow hunting while my dad went to a blind where no one had hunted yet. This nice 9 point walked out and my dad made a perfect shot on him.


My dad and I had a great time hunting w/ Colton and Travis. They were great and showed us both a good time. I would have more pics but I didn't connect on my bow hunt. It was a rush seeing a buck at 40yds though. This hunt is the best I've ever been on just cause I was able to pay it back to my dad for everything he's done for me. Colton and Travis are great people and I'm grateful to them for showing us a good time. My dad was so excited seeing deer and he wore me out on the way home. If you ever want a mgmt hunt and to be shown a good time then Colton is the guy. He's treated me good everytime I've gone and has put me on some really good deer. This is a hunt I will never forget. Thanks guys. We had a blast and this was some of the best hunting I've been on. We saw some awesome deer and Colton's herd is taking off with the mgmt program he has. It's a 9 hour drive but well worth it. I don't think we had a sitting where I couldn't have taken a shooter buck. I just had a certain type of deer in mind.

Southtexas36 - Since I was 8 I've duck hunted with my dad and I took it for granted when I became a teenager and quit hunting all together to chase girls and play sports. Now since I'm older I never take the time we have together for granted cause he won't be here forever. What part of Houma by the way? I have family in Dulac.
