Got on a new lease. Lease manager recommends snake boots. Suggestions? My current hunting boots are Danner Pronghorns that have lasted 5 yrs so far.

How tall is the lace part of the boot? If it isn't very tall get some chaps.

I have these from justin http://www.justinboots.com/boots/western.html?424fccf8=8798

Wore them all last week in 100 degree temps and my feet/legs didn't sweat near as bad as they would with chaps. They are also very easy to get on and off, light too.

I have some Redheads...come just an inch or 2 below my knee, under $100..they are UN-insulated too, so you're not sweating while wearing them.

I have two pairs of snake boots and both of them are made by Rocky! One pair is the lace up type, and the other is a regular slip on cowboy boot style. I like the fit of the lace type boot better, but I like the conveinence of the slip on style better!

I honestly think that the chaps are the safest bet when it comes to protecting yourself against a snake bite, but I have tried my darndest to wear them, and I just cant do it! They are just waaaaaay to hot!!!!!!!!!

I have the Red Head zip-up the side snakeboots from Bass Pro. Only thing is there are some rattlers that will strike
above the knee. Wish there was something that would protect from about 2 inches below the top of the snakeboot to the upper thigh. Even if it was hot be better than the alterative.

I have Magellans from Academy and would not recommend them. They are light, comfortable, and give me good ankle support(important for my bad ankles). However, they leaked on the second deep water. I'm also worry everytime I zip them that the zipper will come off in my hand.

I still think these are pretty good insurance for the money.

dont do it... youll spend more time pulling grass burrs out of your strings than you did struggling to pull on your old ones

i know what you mean, had the same problem with my lace up justin's. but i really like the ankle support,so i don't know what the lesser of the two evils is. but the pull ons are a lot nicer as far as throwing them on quick and getting out the door.

i noticed that one pair of chippewa boots that i saw had a belt type strap on it that can be cinched up to help the ankle support..might be worth looking into.

the pair i have has that little strap up at the top and that's it. the only other thing is i could get some of those ankle brace's from ace that lace up,(like the one's that were used when i played football, those might work) and just wear those when i put on my snake boots.
