We have three of the Big A feeders...and they hold more than 600lbs (closer to 700). On each unit, we put a 12 volt system and made new varmint guards to keep the coons away.

Of the two I would have to go with the Boss Buck. I am not familar with either hower, I do think they make a higher grade product. I would shop around though once you have made your mind up.

I can relate to the frequency of trips to the deer lease so I bought the Boss Buck 1200 lb capacity and believe they are the very doo. Howevdr, I have only owned them for a year but agian I like them very well plus they are easy to take down and move. Althought I do not have the Big A Game Winners I do own two of the Little Boy 300 lb capacity feeders and they have served me well. I have owned these for 3 years and they are still going strong. So in answer to your question I like both but my primary reason for going with the Boss Buck is that the 1200 lb capacity gives me more leeway in going to the deer lease to fill up the feeders.

The timer/motor sucked on my big A so plan on another $150 to do it right. I havent checked out the new bb timers but they are just like everybody elses with thier sticker on their.
You may check "thefeederguys" big feeder they offer and put a good timer on it.
I dont remeber the brand but I like bobotheclowns short feeder.

To the Brother in-law, I need to disagree with you, as someone who over 30+ years of hunting on a meager buget and a tightwad on top of that there is a difference in timers. I grant you we are not talking brain surgery here however the differences in equipment is amazing. When I first started building and selling winch feeders I found that some of my customers wanted a FCU (feeder control unit) included. I would tell them that I don't rep certain model but when ask to recomend a timer I tell them that I have been using HCR for more than 10 years with no issues. My point is it took me years to understand the basics: 1. A well build steel box that will stand up to abuse. 2. 1/4" shaft motor (6 or 12 volt). 3. A "good" timer such as "The Timer" or HCR's timer. 4. Last but not least do business with someone based in TEXAS, such as HCR, West Texas, Lohman depending on your area. They build "Gooder" stuff apreciate you more than walmart or academy. JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

I have bought 6 of the feeder guys 500lb feeders in the last few years and gotten rid of all my other feedes that I built myself. Never found another feeder even close to as good as the Feeder Guys unless you pay 4X as much. No offense to their owners but the Big A feeders are junk! Dont know about Boss Buck, but you wont be disapointed with the feeder guys.

Food for thought my best friend as three of the 600lbs... But they actual hold 14 bags. Timers didn't make it thought the first year.... Two of the motors didn't make it two years. The lids rip at the hinge easily. With that being said they are good feeder if you change the timers and build a new coon cage. Now that was when they first came out... He also has one of the newer 300lber... I had to run the wires through the feeder and ail one the holes due to coons ripping it out. The timer is better though. Put it this way... He now buys the same feeders I buy the Texas wildlife supply old timers just do to easy of use and no coon issues. $200 dollars goes along way in the long run.. He went cheap on the academy feeders and spent the same amount of money in the long run...working the bugs put of the china made academy ones To the Brother in-law, I need to disagree with you, as someone who over 30+ years of hunting on a meager buget and a tightwad on top of that there is a difference in timers. Main Street Feeders in North Richland Hills. Mine is 8 yrs old, survived a fire. It is four legged, hogs have not bothered it like the 3 legged ones that I had to stake. It uses a chain hoist to raise and lower the barrel which means you can move it if need be even when it's full. I'm sure I paid more for it than others out there but the quality is great.
