I am hunting in lavaca county in sweet home, got im stand about 5 or so, had bachelor group of three small bucks come in about 520, came in downwind and busted me! Good luck JW!

we haven't started hunting yet here in VA. Bow season comes in Saturday, and I can't wait. We had our youth day this past weekend and my nephew was able to take his first deer. It was a big doe, and i can't explain how amazing it is to see the excitement of a child in the woods. Priceless. Good Hunting!!

Lots of deer out there, good luck. One night I drove from Edna to yoakum, and hit two deer thirty minutes apart.

So my report was a nice 9pt came in about 6pm and a large doe about 6:30pm. Neither gave me a shot!.

Are you guys seeing as many acorns as were are here in Gonzales? Every day I got out between 1 and 4 pm there are deer I find under the oak trees eating acorns.

Our trees are hit and miss but i would say there are enough of them on the ground to keep em away from the feeders. One to two months ago our bachelor groups and doe were visitin our feeders regularly but activity has slowed according to our cams. Yesterday evening sit i only saw four deer and a big boar and none even looked toward the feeder!

Yeah that's exactly how all our hunts were this weekend. I hunt just off of Lavaca 1 and hwy 111 half way between Edna and Yoakum. Very slow weekend for opening weekend of now season. We did have about 3/4 of the place under water Saturday after all the rain. I can only hope that all that water will help rot the acorns. Between 4 hunters and three hunts we only had 4 deer actually come into the feeders.
