Man what a day, finally got to the place and the only mud I had to deal with was right at the gate. Unfortunately when I hit that slick crap it put me straight into the gate. Knocked the gate off hinges , broke the glass out of side view mirror, blew out back tire and put miscellaneous dents and/or scratches in side of truck. What a start, but I'm in the stand now and staying the week. Not leaving till it dries out.. in the immortal words of Joe dirt.... DANG!!!!!!!!!!!

We will see. I couldn't check cameras last week, didn't have the right digitaal camera to read the cards. I have no clue which feeder to hunt. We have 3 andim solo so all are open. Will look tomoro mid day. Gotta work on gate tomoro too. Saw my 1st squirrel.

Sorry to hear that; but I'm sure you're not the only one that got stuck in the mud. I was one of the worst opening week ends that I can remember. Good luck getting out.

I didn't get stuck, just banged my truck against gate getting thru. Been cheaper if I would have got stuck..

Good luck. I hunt just a few miles north of you, and all the deer i saw where in the first 30 mins and last 30 mins of the day. Hope it is just the full moon.

Seemed like things turned on late Saturday afternoon in the north end of the county. Any intel from this morning?

Nothing this morning, checked camera and nothing lately coming in, checked another feeder cam , it had a doe and 2 yearlings this morning on camera. The doe and yearlings show up several times. Had 2 bucks together on that same camera a few weeks ago. Feeder I sat this morning had a decent buck on camera 2 weeks ago. Still need to check the camera on a game trail and see if they're on a camera away from feeder. Now I gotta go try and fix the gate I jacked up yesterday with my truck.

I have 3 feeders , checked cameras and the other 2 feeders had activity this morning, not the one I was at tho. Doe and yearlong in one and hogs on other , the one with hogs has had the most overall activity so looks like that's where I will be concentrating on. Looks like I may be hog hunting more than deer hunting too, not many deer in last 2 months, nothing like last year..

off to slow start in Weatherford myself. Tween rain and bad wind seen deer but they winded me and didnt come no closer than bout 60yds. Glad Im seein em though. Good Luck.

hear it was slow in north Brown County. Anybody got any current info?

It was so painfully slow I left early. Spent the day so far fixing up my truck to pre gate collision level , or at least as close as I can get without a body shop involved. I never saw anything, very few tracks and even fewer gam cam pics. So slow I don't even want to try rifle opener, may wait till mid Nov and wait for better moon conditions. I don't know if it will help but couldn't hurt.

We are seeing quite a bit of movement on our place. We are west of the city off of 1176.
