I bought a stoeger p350 12ga pump a year ago and would rate it about a 4/10. It jams seems like every other time I shoot 2-3 out of it whether its throwing clays or hunting. I keep it super clean, I've gone the brass vs silver shells route etc etc----- it does it either way. Basically i think its a POS. I used my brothers brand new 870 this past weekend and it was alot better but still jammed twice on me. Any suggestions on a good duck/dove hunting 12ga? Ive decided Im just gonna spring for a good gun, because I got what I paid for with the stoeger

Beretta 3901, I believe this is the best value on any gun.

If your not looking to break the bank and want a shotgun that has proven it's reliability time and time again you should consider the Rem 870.

I was going to say Beretta 390. Paid $550 for mine recently, NIB.

Just bought my wife a SX3 that is really nice, great price!

To answer your question, I would say the Beretta 391 Urika.

My next gun is going to be a Beretta or Benelli. I just got a REM 870 and it jams all the time. Had a yildez over under before that, but it wouldn't eject shells but only 75% of the time. I had a stoeger 2000 before that and it went "click" instead of "boom" way to much.

New 870s are crap. They jam all the time or so I heard. Get an older model

I have a new 2012 Rem 870. No issues at all (and I've put that thing through some hell). No matter what the conditions have been, I've been able to limit out with that gun (every outting) without having to field strip and clean it. I don't have to "baby" it in the field or worry about gas ports getting clogged. Don't have problems ejecting shells... I'd say the 870 is a good gun for the money. Not the best, but it's getting the job done.

Franchi Affinity, Beretta 3901 and Mossberg 930, not necessarily in that order. We are talking best shotgun for the money, not best shotgun.

My neighbor has been shooting a Moss. 930 for several years now and had to replace a plastic piece in part of the linkage but other than that, no problems. Btw, Moss. quickly replaced the part free of charge.

I haven't seen the Fran. Affinity yet around here but i'm reading good reviews on Shotgun World about them. They are touted as the upgraded replacement to the I-12.

The Beretta, well it's a Beretta!! Nuff said!! flehan

it all depends on your price range when you say "for the money"

the best all around shotgun "for the money" is gonna be an older used 870 from a pawn shop or garage sale for around $200.

these "best shotgun" threads can be fun to watch.

Just did this with my Cousin for her son. Semi-auto wasn't in her budget.

1. Benelli Super Nova
2. Mossberg 835
3. Winchester SXP (its new but looks sweet)

I have two Affinity's and think they are great. Had a 3901 but sold it b/c it did not fit me well, it is still an excellent shotgun. I still haven't figured out why I sold my 930 combo.

Best shotgun for the money is one you can borrow from a buddy or your father in law. If you're buying a good Rem 870 wing master will serve you well. I still shoot my 20 and 28 at least once a dove season.
