Post up your known locations, contact information, area, and brief outlooks for Pheasant season this year. Landowners, Guides, Outfitters, City, Chamber of Commerce, BSA, 4H, FFA, FHA, Church and school org, even out of State, etc are welcome to list their location, services, and contact info. We all know it is going to be a ruff year but lets start a listing to use from year to year. I would encourage everyone posting to list whether the location/service is for wild birds or if they use any released birds. Sometimes it is obvious from the location but often it is not. For example, recent discussion of an outfitter indicated that they would be hunting wild pheasant early in the season, with released birds later in the season.

You might call the Plainview Chamber of Commerce or the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce.

New to Texas, moved here from Iowa is it possible to gain permission for day hunts on private land in the panhandle or is it pretty much a lease only deal?

Newcomer, pretty much lease only. Us farmers get attached to birds that aren't a nuisance. We to take people out on daily hunts for them occasionally though. PM for more details.

I know this may sound like sacrilege to many of you phez hunters. I was planning to make a panhandle trip this year. With the bad drought and low bird numbers I think I may just do a hunt closer to home with pen raised birds. It will give the wild birds a break and I will still get to shoot at some chickens and my dog will get to chase em and bring em back
