Deer with Hornady 6.8 spc 110gr vmax?
How did it perform?
What kind of lights does it shoot out? Like are we talkin the mini bulb Christmas lights or a 500 watt flood light?

Guess I would would put aside the v-max and go for an accubond, but thats all shooter preference. Im not a fan of varmit bullets and deer unless neck/head shooting.

I am an avid reloader, and I shoot and reload the 6.8. I usually take neck shots only but last year I intentionally shot a 105lb. whitetail doe behind the shoulder to see what the damage would be. Shot was 50 yards, bullet was 110 Hornady vmax. The bullet did more damage than a 7.62x39. In that the entrance hole was small but the exit hole was over an inch. I suspect that the bullet tumbled. It did take out a rib on entrance but penetrated entirely. So. I would not hesitate to take a shot with the 6.8 at anything under 300 yds. I know the bullet will shoot farther but probably was designed for 300 to 400 max for breathing targets.

We are running one 6.8 in the guide service. A POF 6.8 and all we shoot are Horandy factory 110gr. vmax.. it has proven deadly on 100's of hogs.. It provides a balance between our OBR's in 308 and 223.
On the bullet; lots of expansion, on a larger hog ( 200+) you almost never see an exit wound, tons of damage on the inside..
down side .. cost
hope this helps
